확신하고 깨달음

우리는 율법에 의해 구원된 것이 아니라 율법을 통해 우리의 죄를 확신하고 깨달은 것입니다.
“율법을 통해서는 죄의 깨달음이 있음이니라” (로마서 3:20)
율법은 “ 모든 입을 막고 온 세상이 하나님 앞에 죄가 있게 하려 함이니라” (로마서 3:19) 을 위해 주어졌습니다.
“그리하여 율법이 우리를 그리스도에게로 인도하는 선생이 되었으니 우리를 믿음으로 의롭게 하려 함이라” (갈라디아 3:24).
“율법은 거룩하며…의로우며 선하도다.
그러나 선한 것이 나에게 사망이 되었느냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라.
다만 죄가 죄로 드러나기 위해 선한 그것으로 인하여 나에게 사망을 이루었으니
이는 계명에 의한 죄가 심히 죄 많게 하려는 것이라” (로마서 7:12-13).
바울은 이렇게 말하고 있습니다,
“ 나는 그것들이 죄라는 것을 알기 전에는 나의 죄를 진심으로 고백하지 못했을 것이다.
내가 그분으로부터 얼마나 멀리 떨어져 있다는 것을 알기 전에는
하나님의 거룩하심을 구할 수 없었을 것이다.
율법이 죄에 대한 나의 무감각함을 파괴시키면서 나를 강타 하였다.
내가 그분의 규례를 통해 하나님의 거룩하심을 알았을 때
죄는 나에게 철저히 악한 것이 되었다.”
죄에 대한 깨달음은 당신으로 하여금,
“ 주님 긍휼을 구합니다.
제 자신을 제가 구원할 수가 없습니다.
당신의 율법을 지킬 수가 없습니다.
저는 저의 마음 가운데 죄를 보아 왔습니다!” 라고 울면서
당신을 그리스도의 팔을 향해 곧바로 달려가게 합니다.
믿음은 “죄를 깨달은, 회개하는 죄인이 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 하나님의 긍휼 안으로 피하는 것”으로 정의되어 왔습니다.
하나님의 율법에 의해 그의 죄를 깨달은 자만이 피난처를 위해 “그리스도께로 피할” 것입니다.
오순절 날에 베드로는 서서 군중들에게 하나님의 은혜의 복음을 전했습니다.
그러나 처음에 베드로는 율법의 번쩍이는 빛 아래로 그들을 데려다 놓았습니다.
그는 그의 손가락으로 가리키며 이렇게 말했습니다,
“ 너희가 [그분을]붙잡아 무법자들의 손을 통해 십자가에 못박아 죽였다” (사도행전 2:23).
사람들은 마음에 찔림을 받아,
하나님의 말씀에 의해 철저히 죄를 깨달아 이렇게 울부짖었습니다,
“우리가 어찌 하여야 하리이까” (37절).
아담은 그의 “눈이 열린” 후에 (창세기 3:7)
은혜의 복음을 받았습니다.
그가 그의 비참한 상황과 그의 죄의 결과를 안 후에야
하나님은 그에게 자비와 소망의 메시지를 가져오신 것입니다.

CONVINCED AND CONVICTED

We are not saved by the law but we are convinced and convicted of our sin by
the law. "For by the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20).
The law was sent "that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become
guilty before God" (Romans 3:19). "The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto
Christ, that we might be justified by faith" (Galatians 3:24).
"The law is holy... and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death
unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by
that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceedingly
sinful" (Romans 7:12-13).
Paul was saying, "I couldn't really confess my sins until I knew they were
sins. I couldn't seek after the holiness of God until I saw how far from Him I
was. The law hit home to me, destroying my nonchalance about sin. When I saw
God's holiness by His commandments, sin became utterly sinful to me."
That is the conviction that drives you straight to the arms of Christ, crying,
"Mercy, Lord! I can't save myself, I can't fulfill Your law. I've seen the sin
of my heart!"
Faith has been defined as "the flight of a convicted, repentant sinner unto the
mercy of God in Christ Jesus." Only the person who has been convicted of his
sins by the law of God will "flee to Christ" for refuge.
On the day of Pentecost Peter stood and offered the crowds the gospel of God's
grace. But first he put them under the blazing light of the law. He pointed his
finger and said, "Ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain
[Him]" (Acts 2:23). The people were pricked in their hearts, so utterly
convicted by the Word of God they cried out, "What shall we do?" (verse 37).
Adam was given the gospel of grace—after his "eyes were opened" (see Genesis
3:7). It was only after he had seen his pitiful condition and the consequences
of his sin that God brought to him the message of mercy and hope!
