의롭다 여기심을 받는 믿음

의롭다 함과 의는 오직 믿음으로 얻습니다.
저는 믿음으로 구원을 받았고 믿음으로 의롭게 되었고
그리스도의 보혈을 믿음으로 보존되었습니다. 그것이 바로 복음의 기초입니다.
그러나 모든 믿음이 의롭다 여기심을 받는 믿음은 아닙니다.
성경은 두 종류의 믿음에 대해 분명히 말씀하고 있습니다.
하나는 의롭다 여김을 받는 믿음, 또 다른 하나는 마귀도 믿는 가치 없는 믿음입니다.
사도행전 8장 13절은 점쟁이 시몬에 대해 “ 믿었다” 라고 기록하고 있습니다 “시몬도 믿었다.
그리고… 세례를 받았다” 라고 했지만 그의 믿음은 의롭다 함을 얻는 믿음은 아니었습니다.
시몬은 사도 베드로에게서 성령의 능력을 얻으려고 돈을 주었습니다.
그러나 베드로는 이같이 대답했습니다, “ 내가 보니 너는 악독이 가득하여 불의에 매인 바 되었도다” (23절).
베드로는 이렇게 말 하고 있는 것이었습니다, “너의 마음은 아직도 죄에 잡혀 있도다.”
베드로는 시몬에게 회개하지 않으면 그와 그의 돈이 함께 망할 것이라고 말했습니다.
사실 시몬은 믿었으나 그는 그리스도 안에 있는 하나님의 의를 이루지 못했습니다.
그의 믿음은 의롭게 하는 믿음,
즉 심령을 깨끗게 하며 그리스도의 의를 불러오는 그러한 종류의 믿음이 아니었던 것입니다.
성경은 많은 사람들이 “ 예수께서 행한 기적을 보았을 때 [예수를] 믿었다” 라고 말씀합니다.
그러나 예수님은 그들에게 자신을 맡기지 아니 하셨는데…
이는 주께서 사람 속에 무엇이 들어 있는지를 아셨기 때문입니다. (요한 2:23-25)
이러한 사람들은 예수님을 믿는 어떤 믿음이 있었지만
그것이 “하나님의 아들이 되는 권세”를 받는 사람들이 가지는 그러한 믿음은 아닌 것입니다. (요한1:12)
의롭다 함을 얻는 믿음은 동의하는 믿음이상을 의미합니다.
즉 그 믿음은 하나님을 그저 인정하는 그 이상의 믿음을 말합니다.
야고보서 2장 19절에서 야고보는 이같이 주장합니다,
“ 네가 한 분 하나님이 계심을 믿으니 잘하는 것이라. 마귀들도 믿고 떠느니라”.
야고보는 죽은, 잠시적이며 영원하지 않은 믿음에 관해 이야기 하는 것이었습니다.
그리고 예수님은 이러한 종류의 믿음에 대해,
“ 어떤 이들은 “잠시 믿다가 시험을 받을 때면 떨어져 나간다”(누가 8:13) 라고 경고 하셨습니다.
그러나 의롭다 함을 얻는 한 믿음, “심령을 깨끗해 하는” (사도행전 15:9 참조) 믿음,
그리고 “의에 이르는 믿음”(로마서 10:10) 이 있습니다.
믿음으로 의롭다 함을 얻기 위해서는 하나님께 순종하며
그분께 신실하고자 하는 이에 수반하는 갈망이 있어야만 합니다.
이러한 믿음은 살아 움직이는 힘,
하나님을 향한 영원한 순종과 사랑의 원리를 포함하고 있습니다.
JUSTIFYING FAITH

Justification and righteousness come by faith alone. I am saved by faith, made
righteous by faith and kept by faith in Christ's blood. That is the very
foundation of the gospel. But not all faith is justifying faith. The Bible
clearly speaks of two kinds of faith: one that justifies and another that is of
no value—a faith that even the devils exercise.
The book of Acts records that Simon the magician "believed" but his faith was
not the justifying kind. "Simon himself believed also: and . . . he was
baptized" (Acts 8:13). Simon offered the apostle Peter money to acquire the
power of the Holy Ghost but Peter answered, "I perceive that thou art in the
gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity" (verse 23). He was saying,
"Your heart is still bound by sin."
Peter told Simon that without repentance both he and his money would perish.
Indeed, Simon believed but he was not made the righteousness of God in Christ.
His faith was not justifying faith, the kind that purifies the heart and brings
the righteousness of Christ.
Scripture says many people "believed [in Jesus] . . . when they saw the
miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them... for he
knew what was in man" (John 2:23-25). These people had a belief in Christ but
it was not the faith of those who receive "power to become the sons of God"
(1:12).
Justifying faith is more than a faith of assent; it does more than just
acknowledge God. James argued: "Thou believest that there is one God; thou
doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble" (James 2.19). James was
talking about a dead, temporary faith, not an eternal one. And Jesus warned
about this kind of faith, saying that some believe for a while “[but] have no
root . . . and in time of temptation fall away" (Luke 8:13).
But there is a justifying faith, one that "purifies the heart" (see Acts 15.9)
and "believeth unto righteousness" (Romans 10:10).
In order for faith to be justifying, there must be an accompanying desire to
obey and be faithful to God. This kind of faith contains a vital force, a
principle of everlasting obedience and love for God. |
